Holly Cruise started working with glass in 1995 as an apprentice at UrbanGlass: The New York Experimental Glass Workshop. While there, she worked with many reputable artists as an artist's assistant and teaching assistant, and took part in the work study program. In 1997 Holly moved on to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked in a production glassblowing studio. In 1999 she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. From 2000-2004, she worked for New-Small Sterling Studio Glass on Granville Island. Holly continues to pursue flameworking in her Vancouver studio, creating beautiful glass jewelry & small sculptures. Holly was the president of the British Columbia Glass Arts Association for two years, executing several successful exhibitions of glass art, including Back to The Bank at the Pendulum Gallery and Arrivals & Departures at the Roundhouse Community Centre. Holly was recently featured on HGTV’s “That’s Clever!” creating one of her popular “Sweety Cakes” Cupcake Rings. Holly & her husband, Alex, are the proud parents of their most wonderful creation yet, their delightful 11 month old son, Dexter.
